About me
Hi! I'm Cory. I'm a father, husband and an experienced software engineering leader. I've built web applications, distributed systems, and scalable APIs used by 20MM+ users from the ground-up.
I've architected a web application (full stack), for a publicly-traded logistics firm from the ground-up, that has scaled to 1000+ users and $2MM+ in revenue per day.
Growth Engineering and user onboarding are also skills of mine, where I've lead onboarding experiments involving new AI features for 500k+ monthly SaaS sign-ups.
Additionally, I've managed teams of engineers and thrive as a mentor to junior folks. I've worked across multiple teams of engineers to architect, plan, and ship API's and user interfaces.
Take a look at my resume and projects. I would love to connect if you have any questions!

I am writing to provide an enthusiastic and wholehearted recommendation for Cory Cooper, [who was] my manager at Xpress Technologies.
One of Cory’s standout qualities is his exceptional ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment... His leadership led the company to 1+ million dollars in revenue within the first few years of the product.... Furthermore, Cory is highly adaptable and resourceful, demonstrating the ability to navigate and lead in challenging situations...

I worked with Cory at USX in 2020 through 2021 where we were both Software Engineering Managers working on a load brokering tool for the trucking industry.
He was a lead of a handful of engineers and a frequent contributor to the codebase. Even though his focus was on our front-end application written in AngularJS, he also wrote a lot of code for our backend Typescript GraphQL gateway.
I was always impressed with his technical skills, attention to detail, ability to lead his team, and overall professionalism.

I had the pleasure of working with Cory for two years as a software engineer on his team at U.S. Xpress. During that time, I was consistently impressed by his technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to his team.
Cory is a highly skilled software engineer with a deep understanding of front-end development. He is also a very effective communicator and teacher. As he taught the other engineers and me a great deal about Angular development, state management, and software engineering best practices. He was always willing to take the time to explain both high-level software concepts as well as pair program on a more granular level.
In addition to his technical skills, Cory was an excellent role model as a team lead. He fostered a truly positive work environment where everyone felt valued and respected. He was able to effectively delegate and motivate his people, creating a tightly-knit, high-performing team.
Cory was an incredibly supportive and encouraging mentor and fundamental to my growth as a software engineer. I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with him and have no doubt that he will be a valuable asset to his next team as both an engineer and collaborator.
